Every performance starts with showing up. For Dylan, that idea extends far beyond the theater. He started donating blood when he was just 16. At the time, he didn’t have a personal connection to blood donation. He simply knew it mattered.
So, he kept showing up. Whole blood. Platelets. Again, and again.
Today, Dylan has made 114 donations — and counting.
Between double majors, theater, chorus, and work, Dylan has plenty on his plate. But donating blood has become one thing he doesn’t have to think twice about. It’s a small act that allows him to be part of something bigger than himself.
His experience on stage has taught him that a performance isn’t about one person. Everyone has a role to play, and when people show up and work together, they can create something bigger than themselves.
He sees blood donations the same way.
“You may never meet the person you’re helping. You won’t hear the applause. You won’t see the ending. But you still show up — because someone, somewhere, is counting on it.”
