EARLEVILLE, Md. – During the inaugural “Out for Blood” drive and powerlifting open held April 30, 2022, Jason Painter’s plan to draw several powerlifters to the gym side while a number of the spectators donated blood in the banquet hall was a smashing success.

There is a good chance we'll see Ashley Hambling at the Out for Blood Drive.
Jason and his fiancée, Shane Simmons, also run the annual In Honor of Maverick Blood Drive held every September. Jason was also instrumental in bringing blood drives back to his place of employment, Terumo in Elkton, Md.
In addition to being a stellar advocate for the Blood Bank of Delmarva, Jason is an avid powerlifter and coach.
Some of the donors at the inaugural Out for Blood Drive were crossover donors from the Maverick blood drive, including dear family friends Ashley Hambling and Cassandra Alexander, and both of Maverick’s grandmothers.
Whether they have donated at Maverick’s blood drive or Out for Blood, Jason hopes they come back and help him continue the successful run of blood drives in Cecil County. The blood drive is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 15 at Hacks Point Fire Co.
“I can’t wait to see what we are able to do this year,” he said.
